In this previous post, I showed you how to work with textile hardener and what nice things you can do with it. These big fan-shaped wax dangle earrings are bold and my absolute favorite. The first time I made these statement earrings I knew that it wasn’t going to be my last time. So I created another pair with this nice wax print fabric. I love it!
The only supplies you need (apart from the textile hardener and your favorite wax print fabric) are:
- a pair of cutting pliers,
- a pair of round nose pliers,
- (wooden) beads,
- ear wires,
- and headpins.
Before you start, make sure you check this tutorial for instructions on how to use the textile hardener and how to fold your fabric into a fan-shape!
Once your fabric is semi-dry, make a small hole using a needle. Thread a bead on the headpin and insert it through the hole.
After you thread the big bead, use a pair of round nose pliers to bend the end of the headpin, in order to make a small loop. Make the loop big enough so the bead stays in place once closed. Cut the excess metal wire with a pair of cutting pliers.
Before the loop is closed, attach the ear wire.
There you have it. Making a statement earring was never that easy!
